Get to Know Lola Dupré

Lola Dupré (@loladupre) is a collage artist and illustrator. Her clients include Penguin Books, Nike Basketball, WIRED, TIME Magazine, MAXIM Magazine & New Republic. She is currently based in Ireland.
She's also currently running a wonderful giveaway on Ello.
Interviewer Alexi Ueltzen (@alexi) is Ello’s Community Evangelist. If she’s not at the office, she’s probably swimming, getting muddy with her dogs or baking cookies. Seriously. The best cookies.

Alexi: Tell us a little about your background. How did you get interested in collage?
Lola: I was always interested in creativity. Photography, animation, sculpture, painting, writing, music, and more has always occupied a lot of my time. I became interested in collage for several reasons, but essentially because I was very attracted to the accessibility of the medium and how quickly you could manipulate a new image.

Alexi: Where do you go for inspiration?
Lola: Everywhere. I love cities, forests, walking by the sea, looking at animals and plants.
Alexi: You’ve lived in many different countries - what has this taught you about yourself and how has it influenced your work?
Lola: I am not really sure, all experiences add up to something I am sure, but who would you be without your past? I do not know. I was often amazed by how much people and the environment can change just by travelling for a few hours, perhaps my travels have given me an interesting view on manipulation and change.
